“Anything but ordinary” - Jim Gellatly, XFM
“Pure, jazzy, funked up grooves that make you think it’s summer, even when it’s pishing with rain, the Ordinary Allstars are the greatest addition to the Edinburgh Hip Hop scene” – Leith records

In a digital world of hip hop, The Ordinary Allstars are the analogue antidote. The Ordinary Allstars are the creation of vocalist MC Hasta, and drummer/producer Fuzz. Friends before beginning to work together, a strong artistic partnership developed as they began to write, and created the blueprint for The Ordinary Allstars - a lively, upbeat, musical hip hop project that draws on elements of jazz, reggae and funk. With songs written, they needed to put together the band to take it live. Calling on friends B Burg and Benofficial for guitar and bass (both formerly of jazz hip hop fusion Livesciences) and Johnny Drama for additional live vocals, The Ordinary Allstars took shape as a high energy, dynamic five-piece live band. Bursting onto the scene in 2009, and releasing their debut single ‘I Don’t Like Hip Hop’ they gained many new fans and plaudits not least in support of The Black Seeds at the HMV Picture House. 2010 promises to be a big year for the Allstars, with sell-out shows already under their belt and a host of exciting bookings in the calendar, make sure you catch these guys when they bring the party to your local spot! |
